LGBT Network – Know Your Rights: Pride Vs Hate, in partnership with the Anti-Violence Project

Pride vs Hate: AVP’s Upstander Intervention & De-Escalation Training is a workshop designed for community members and professionals who want to be able to safely intervene when facing threats of harassment or violence in public or professional spaces. Participants will engage in hands-on activities, reviewing safety protocols and tools such as environmental scanning, the 5 D’s of de-escalation, and more. Participants will also be able to reflect on their own identities and experiences in order to better inform their decision-making skills when de-escalating. Additionally, participants will review essential Know Your Rights information for when navigating interactions with law enforcement, with the aim of keeping officers accountable and community members safe from hate violence.
